Volvo S40 DRIVe - Green Car of the Year 2009
The latest trinket to come Volvo’s way is ‘Green Car of the Year’ – awarded by What Car? – for the Volvo S40 DRIVe with stop start. And it wasn’t as if there was no competition.
It’s been a bit of a ‘Mini-Fest’ this week, what with the Mini E in Berlin and the news that the Mini is the least depreciating car in the UK. And now we have the first official images of the new Mini Convertible, due to hit showrooms in Spring 2009. Based of course on the latest Mini, the convertible keeps the familiar face, but has a raised shoulder line to accommodate the soft-top.

Honda’s first production Hybrid – the Honda Insight, recently called the worst car in the world – has not been a resounding success. True, it looks better than the Toyota Prius but – and we haven’t driven one yet so we can’t comment from our own experience – it’s not a great car. It has also been eclipsed – after a promising start – by the Toyota Prius, which has doubled its sales in Japan.
